YOUNG CITIZENS FOUNDATION AWARD - $5,000
Presented in recognition of Gerald Gilroy’s generous contribution made to the Air Cadet League of Canada, in trust, for the annual National Educational Scholarship that will be known as the “Alex Venables Scholarship in Engineering”. Students must be entering directly into a full time program of study in the field of engineering. The award consists of a $2,000 scholarship.
In order to promote music in the Air Cadet Movement, the Air Cadet League of Canada has established annual awards for outstanding Air Cadet Musicians.
Two awards are presented annually, one each to an outstanding:
(a) Air Cadet Pipe Band Musician – Air Force Association Pipe Band Award;
(b) Air Cadet Military Band Musician.
This year it is two $350 cash award sponsored by Long & McQuade Musical Instruments.
The Music Awards are open to members of the Royal Canadian Air Cadets during the year of application, and they are awarded based on music abilities combined with outstanding performance as an Air Cadet.
Cadets must meet all of the following conditions of eligibility:
Must complete the Music Awards Application Form ACC58EN;
Must have completed a minimum of two years of continuous service as a member of an Air Cadet Pipe Band or Military Band by the date of nomination;
Must provide a statement of approximately 300 words outlining your career goals and objectives;
The applicant is required to submit a video recording of the two approved pieces of music that they performed to achieve music level four or five as well as a copy (pdf) of the music sheet that is played.
Must have an outstanding performance as an Air Cadet.
Air Commodore Leonard J. Birchall, CM, OBE, DFC, O.Ont, CD, LL.D, D.Sc.M, and Mrs. Kathleen Birchall, have been long-time generous supporters of the Royal Canadian Air Cadet movement across Canada. The amount of the award will be determined annually, and it will be dependent upon the earnings of the investment trust.
Robert Gordon Dale, DSO, DFC, CD, and Mrs. Mary Dale, have given exceptional service to Canada in times of both war and peace. This has been especially so in their support of Royal Canadian Air Cadets. Robert Dale served as the National President of the Air Cadet League of Canada in 1972-1973, and as the Honorary President of the Air Cadet League of Canada from 1983 to 2013. The amount of the award will be determined annually, and it will be dependent upon the earnings of the investment trust
99's Canada Scholarship - $1,000
The purpose of the Pilot Training Achievement Awards is to provide funding for use in continuing a cadet’s flying or gliding training.
Air Cadet League Advisory Council Scholarship - $1,000
The Advisory Council consisting of Past National Presidents who have been involved with the Air Cadets Organisations for many years are please to support cadets in the continuation of their studies.
The award consists of a $1,000 Scholarship in 2021.
Air Cadet League Foundation Scholarship - $1,500 each (x3)
The primary mandate of the Foundation of the Air Cadet League of Canada is to provide graduating Air Cadets with assistance for post-secondary education. The Foundation also supports other Air Cadet programs from time to time and in response to specific requests. The applicants must have completed high school and enrolled in a college or CEGEP technical program or in a vocational program of at least 6 months at a recognized educational institution or be deemed a full-time student even if studying part-time. The awards consist of three $1,500 Scholarships in 2021.
CAE Scholarship - $2,500 each (x2)
Established in 2002 by CAE Inc. Founded in 1947, CAE is a global leader in the provision of simulation and control technologies and training solutions for aerospace, defence and marine markets. Awarded on the basis of high academic standing by the Faculty of Engineering Scholarships Committee. Preference shall be given to students entering the final year of undergraduate studies in either the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering or the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
Canada Company Bursary - $1,000 each
The aim of this program is to recognize cadets and Junior Canadian Rangers (JCRs) who exemplify attributes of leadership and citizenship and are motivated to pursue post-secondary education, vocation, or other learning opportunities. Annually, through the Cadets and JCR Bursary Program we award bursaries of $1,000.00 to Junior Canadian Rangers, Sea, Army and Air Cadets.
Chris Ecklund Scholarship
The aim of these scholarships is to provide financial assistance to recently aged-out Royal Canadian Air Cadets from across the country who have enrolled in and have been accepted by S.T.E.M.-focused programs or other aviation-relevant studies of benefit to Canada’s aerospace capabilities, offered by eligible institutions.
CN Memorial Scholarship - $5,000 each
All Canadians were deeply saddened to hear about the CH148 Cyclone crash that took the lives of six members of the Canadian Armed Forces including SLT Abbigail Cowbrough and SLT Matthew Pike of the Royal Canadian Navy, and Capt Brenden MacDonald, Capt Kevin Hagen, Capt Maxime Miron-Morin and MCpl Matthew Cousins of the Royal Canadian Air Force.
Capt Brenden MacDonald, Capt Kevin Hagen, Capt Maxime Miron-Morin were formerly air cadets, and SLT Abbigail Cowbrough was formerly both an air and sea cadet.
For the training year 2020-2021, CN is offering Educational Scholarships for a total value of $60 000 to honour the memory of the 6 military personnel who lost their lives in the helicopter crash. Four were in the Royal Canadian Air Force therefore the sum of $40,000 is dedicated for Air Cadet Scholarships. These awards consist of 8 scholarships of $5,000.00 each
KC Lett Scholarship - $2,000 each (x9)
Major-General (Ret'd) Ken C. Lett has made an historical donation of over 1.2 million dollars to the Air Cadet League of Canada. The KC Lett Scholarship will be awarded for postsecondary enrolment in an aviation related program at an accredited educational institution or for continuation flying at a certified flight school.
Legion National Foundation Scholarship - $2,500
Established in 2017, the mission of the Foundation is to fund four pillars across Canada: Veteran’s Wellness, Education, Pilgrimages and Scholarships and bursaries. The Foundation has identified the Cadet Leagues as intended recipients of funding in the amount of $2500. For the Air Cadet League of Canada, this amount is awarded to a deserving cadet to pursue post-secondary education at an accredited institution in Canada.
Thomas Colfer Scholarship - $5,000
Thomas Colfer was a World War 2 Navy veteran. He bravely served on warships escorting convoys during the Battle of the Atlantic and the Murmansk Run. Two of his nephews were Air Cadets. Last year the award consisted of a $5,000 scholarship.
RCAF Trust Scholarship - $2,500
The Foundation’s Scholarship will have a value of no more than CAN $1,000 or $2,500 depending on the scholarship received. A Recipient must:
a) attend a School on a full-time or part-time basis (as defined by the school);
b) be enrolled in a course of study leading to a certificate, diploma or degree (college, undergraduate, master’s, PhD) in the area of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics with plans to pursue a career in Aviation and/or Aerospace;
c) attend all courses on a regular basis.

Jazz Scholarship - $3,000 each (x2)
The Jazz Aviation Pathway Award for Professionalism. Awarded to a full-time student accepted and enrolled in a Jazz APP-affiliated aviation program for outstanding contributions to safety, leadership and professionalism. The Award consists of a $3,000 scholarship.
The Jazz Aviation Pathway Award for Professionalism and Diversity. Awarded to a full-time student accepted and enrolled in a Jazz APP affiliated aviation program who has self-identified as aboriginal, a person with a disability, a visible minority or female; for outstanding contributions to safety, leadership and professionalism. Young Citizen's Foundation Scholarship - $5,000
The purpose and goal of this scholarship is to assist young Canadians to grow and mature as committed, knowledgeable, and contributed Canadian citizens. The Foundation’s goals are to promote the air cadet program, to encourage young Canadians to join Air Cadets, and to enable worthy Air Cadets to pursue a post secondary education so that they have the opportunity to become future leaders in our country. This award consists of a $5,000 scholarship.
